Our Team

A substance misuse and abuse training and technical assistance consultant typically resides and works in one of the six defined regions across the state to provide customized services. The consultant seeks to ensure that services are informed by local knowledge, expertise, and cultural understanding of the area.

We have found this approach helps build stronger community participation and ownership in addressing community issues. Through this approach, and providing access to substance misuse and abuse prevention technical assistance and  training, we support greater sustainability of community-based primary prevention efforts.

Our unique structure also enables consultants to serve as a link between communities and the state through consultants’ participation at various state level meetings. Our presence and participation both at the local community and state level help the consultants provide a coordinated and integrated approach to statewide technical assistance and training for substance misuse and abuse prevention and other related prevention efforts.
